On July 29, 2004, the last event of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) 80th Anniversary celebrations wrapped-up with a fundraiser Golf Tournament at the Circled Pines Golf course, CFB Borden.  With weather cooperating, the event was enjoyed by all participants whose contribution will serve to support heritage projects through the Base Borden Military Museum.

“In addition to the tournament fees, we raised money through various auctions during the banquet,” says the organiser of the tournament, Major Al Corbeil. “We raised more than $6,000 for the Base Borden Military Museum.”  Major Corbeil thanks all participants and the dozens of sponsors and supporters who made the tournament a success.

“This tournament was held to provide very much needed funding to assist the museum in preserving our precious Canadian military and aviation history,” explained the museum’s Director, LCol (ret’d) Stuart Beaton. “CFB Borden, being the birthplace of Canada’s Air Force and Armoured Corps, is also the location of a National Historic Site, Borden’s 1917 hangar line.”
