Exercise MAPLE FLAG

Exercise MAPLE FLAG is an international air combat exercise held annually at 4 Wing Cold Lake, Alberta. This year’s MAPLE FLAG 46, taking place from May 27 to June 21, 2013, will provide Canadian and Allied aircrew with realistic training in a modern simulated air combat environment, and emphasizes air operations involving large package coalition forces.

MAPLE FLAG 46 will be carried out in 2 two-week periods:

Period 1: 27 May – 7 June 2013; and
Period 2: 10 – 21 June 2013.

Period 1 of the exercise will be integrated into JOINTEX 13, an exercise that has been designed to support, capitalize on, and enhance training and readiness efforts across the Canadian Forces.

Hundreds of military personnel are expected to participate in this year’s exercise.
