Canadian Forces Station Alert became the owner of an Oshkosh T-1000 Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) truck on March 3, 2010.

It is a compact, deployable crash truck with the same capabilities as the larger model. It was delivered from 8 Wing Trenton, Ont., to Alert via a CC-130 Hercules based out of 14 Wing Greenwood, N.S.
