LGen Watt recently presented a special award to Major Micky Colton, a pilot with 426 Squadron, for her "outstanding support to the Air Force Speakers Bureau." Major Colton was one of the first volunteers to sign up with the Bureau when it launched last year and she has since become one of its most active speakers.

I enjoy getting out there and talking about the Air Force," said Major Colton who has spoken to high school students, service clubs and women's groups over the past year. Most recently, she delivered the opening address at the Canadian Women in Aviation conference in Edmonton.

"It's a way to give back. It's also gratifying ... and the feedback is always positive."

"While still in its early stages, the Air Force Speakers Bureau is enjoying tremendous success, thanks to people like Major Colton who are getting out there, proudly and passionately telling the Air Force story," said LGen Watt, adding he plans to recognize other deserving speakers at other wings across the country in the coming months.

If you're interested in joining the Air Force Speakers Bureau, or know of an organization that might be looking for a speaker, the Bureau wants to hear from you. Contact them at 1-866-633-8898 / Speakersbureau@forces.gc.ca.
