Chief Warrant Officer Dan Baulne

CWO Dan Baulne is a native of Hull Quebec and enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Meteorological Technician in 1989.

Shortly after his occupational training in Winnipeg, he was posted to 5 Wing Goose Bay having served 2 years.

In 1992 he was posted to 3 Wing Bagotville then Corporal Baulne was posted to HMCS Vancouver in Esquimalt BC. The ship tour done, he was promoted to the rank of Master Corporal and posted ashore to the Meteorological and Oceanographic Centre in Esquimalt BC.

In 1999, Master Corporal Baulne was posted to 5 RALC in Valcartier Quebec as the 2I/C of the ballistic Met troop.

In 2000 he was promoted to the rank of Sargent and took over as IC of the ballistic Met troop. In 2001/02 he deployed with R Bty to Bosnia as part of the SFOR. 

Shortly after his return from tour, he was posted as staff to Canadian Forces School of Meteorology in Winnipeg. 

Promoted to the rank of Warrant Officer in 2007 he was posted to Valcartier QC 430 TACHEL.

In 2009 he was deployed with 403 TACHEL to Kandahar Afghanistan as Duty Officer in the Operation centre.  After 5 years at 430 TACHEL, he was promoted to the rank of Master Warrant Officer and posted to the newly created Joint Met Centre in Gagetown NB as the Operational Liaison MWO.

In 2016, he was promoted to his current rank and became the Unit Chief Warrant Officer of the Joint Met Centre. In July 2018 he deployed as the Air Task Force – Mali Chief Warrant Officer.
