Albert R. Olson

Mr. Bert Olson was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 15 Wing Moose Jaw, SK in April 2015.

Honorary Colonel Olson was born in Calgary AB and graduated from the Business Administration program at Lethbridge Community College. He began his management career with the Royal Bank of Canada until 1981 when he joined PCL Constructors Inc. in the building industry. He served in a number of posts until 1997. In 1998 he joined Bombardier Aerospace Defence Services at the commencement of the NATO Flying Training Program at 15 Wing Moose Jaw as the site manager and later as the business operations manager. In 2004, following a brief period as a Contractor working at 15 Wing Honorary Colonel Olson joined the Public Service with management responsibilities for Wing Supply, Information Systems, Construction Engineering, and Contracts.  His dedicated service was formally acknowledged in 2006 when he received the Commemorative Medal for the Centennial of Saskatchewan and again in 2014 when he was awarded the Canadian Forces Medallion for Distinguished Service.  Honorary Olson retired from the position of Deputy Chief of Staff in June 2014.

Honorary Colonel Olson has a strong resume of community involvement.  He was a founding member and Board Member of Regina’s Habitat for Humanity and served as a Board Member and Chair of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation. 

Honorary Colonel Olson and his wife Linda reside in Regina, SK.
