Mr. Cal Jorstad

Mr. Cal Jorstad was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School, 15 Wing Moose Jaw, SK in August 2014.

Honorary Colonel Jorstad is a life-long resident of Moose Jaw, attending Peacock High School prior to graduating from the Kelsey Campus of the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology. With an abiding interest in aviation he became a “flying farmer” combining his enterprise as a primary agricultural producer and his passion for flying. He is also president of Scyline Developments, developing residential and commercial properties and operates an event rentals enterprise.

Honorary Colonel Jorstad has served in municipal government as Councillor for Division 3 in Moose Jaw and Director for Division #2 of the Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities. He has also served on the Regional Advisory Council for the University of Saskatchewan as well as being Director of the Saskatchewan Flying Farmers. Honorary Colonel Jorstad is currently serving as Director of the provincial Aviation Council and Chair of the Moose Jaw Airport Advisory Committee.  He also is active with both the Masons and Shriners.

Honorary Colonel Jorstad is obviously a person of wide-ranging involvement and completes the list with his stated interests in all forms of outdoor activities including hunting and fishing as well as woodworking and photography.
