Mr. François Prémont

Mr. François Prémont, executive vice-president Friends of the Royal Canadian Air Force Foundation, was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 430 Tactical Helicopter Squadron in Valcartier, QC in August 2014.

Honorary Colonel Prémont was born in Quebec City and gained his degree in public communications from University of Laval. He began his 26 year career with Le Soleil in 1969 serving as the manager for marketing services, publicity and for graphic services. He subsequently became the director for corporate development with the Catalpa Group before opening his own company, Transmont Inc from 1996 to 2015. The company offers consultancy in strategic planning and development.  In addition, Honorary Colonel Prémont provides political advice to a range of departments within the Quebec National Assembly as well as serving as director of the Louis-Hébert county office.

Honorary Colonel Prémont was very active in his community. As a lecturer he supported the Department of public communications and marketing of Laval University. He served as a board member of the Québec City Convention Centre Society, of the Institute for the Deaf of Charlesbourg and participated in marketing associations including the National Advertising Executive Association, the Canadian Daily Newspaper Association and the Newspaper Marketing Bureau. He was awarded the Queen Elisabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal by the Lieutenant Governor of Québec for his initiatives.

Honorary Colonel Prémont is active with the Scout movement as well as being an avid cyclist and skier.
