Mr. Glen Suitor, perhaps best known as a safety with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 417 Combat Support Squadron, 4 Wing Cold Lake, AB in August 2015.

Honorary Colonel Suitor was born in New Westminster BC and after four years at Simon Fraser University was selected by the Saskatchewan Roughriders as a safety. During his playing career he was the team’s all-time interception leader. While still playing with the Roughriders, Honorary Colonel Suitor was sports director and morning co-host with CJME radio and its sister station CIZL in Regina.

In 1994, Honorary Colonel Suitor announced his retirement from the CFL and entered the TSN Radio booth as a colour analyst during the Grey Cup game in Vancouver. The following year he joined the network as the colour commentator and now works alongside Chris Cuthbert calling the play-by-play for TSN’s extensive CFL coverage. Their vast knowledge of the game earned them a Gemini award for Best Play-By-Play or Analyst.

Outside the booth, Honorary Colonel Suitor coaches various levels and different sports including hockey, football, basketball and volleyball.  In 2006, he organized and conducted a football camp in Saskatoon for 500 children. He also conducts individual training for promising football players.
