Mr. Joseph Levy was appointed as Honorary Colonel of 3 Air Maintenance Squadron, Bagotville, QC in December 2014.

Honorary Colonel Levy was born in Cairo Egypt in 1951 and moved to Montreal with his family in 1957. Joseph attended Stanstead College in the Eastern Townships from 1966 to 1969 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Communication Studies from Loyola College in Montreal. After university, he worked in broadcast management for two Montreal radio groups, Standard Radio (CJAD and CJFM) and Radio Futura (CKOI and CKVL). In 1981, Honorary Colonel Levy started Mediavation, a small, specialty advertising agency. Over 30 years later, Mediavation is one of the top 100 agencies in Canada, whose clients have included Formula 1 Racing, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche Canada, Nissan Canada, Club Med N.A., Coca-Cola and Mark's Work Wearhouse.

While at Stanstead College, Honorary Colonel Levy met his wife Susan Caulfield, who was a student across the border at Sacred Heart Academy in Newport, Vermont (Vt.) Susan and Joseph have been married for more than 40 years and have two children, Sara and Jeremy, and two grandchildren, Emma and Joshua.

Over the years, Honorary Colonel Levy has been deeply involved in the stewardship of Stanstead College, beginning as a member of the Montreal Alumni Association and joining the Board of Directors in 1995. In addition to chairing several committees, he was the chairman of the Board of Directors from 2002 to 2006 and served as president of the Council of Trustees from 2004 until 2012. He remains a trustee of the school and is a director of the Red & White Educational Foundation, the school’s fundraising entity.

Among the fundraising initiatives that he was involved in was the campaign to build the Pat Burns Arena in partnership with the Town of Stanstead, a campaign in which the Honorary Colonel played a key role. For his work in this campaign and in recognition of his many years of contribution to the school, he was awarded the Stanstead College Trustees’ Award of Merit in 2013.

Honorary Colonel Levy has also contributed to other various fundraising projects, including for the Jewish General Hospital, Montreal Children’s Hospital, University Hospital Center CHU Ste-Justine, Mont Sinai Hospital in Montreal and the Fondation Communautaire Canadienne- Italienne. In addition, he has been actively involved in the Constance- Lethbridge Foundation, a physical rehabilitation centre in Montreal. In addition to all of the above, Honorary Colonel Levy’s passions are model trains, model cars, real cars and, most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
