Mr. Mark Weightman, President of the CFL Montreal Alouettes, was appointed as Honorary Colonel of “les Alouettes” 425 Tactical Fighter Squadron, 3 Wing Bagotville, in June 2015.

Honorary Colonel Weightman was born and raised in St-André d’Argenteuil, QC and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Concordia University and an MBA from University of Quebec in Montreal. He began his CFL career in 1995 as an intern with the Grey Cup champion Baltimore Stallions before joining the Alouettes the following year. Honorary Colonel Weightman served as VP Operations and Events for from 2002 until being named the President and Chief Operating Officer in 2013. He has reshaped the team’s fan services group and rebuilt the Alouettes’ partnership group.

Honorary Colonel Weightman is dedicated to the growth of football across the province in partnership with Football Quebec to create the Tim Horton’s All-Star Game. He also spearheaded a coaching clinic for local coaches to learn the ropes from members of the Alouettes coaching staff.  Mindful of the environment, he also developed and coordinated the launch of the “EnvironmentALS” program with the Suzuki Foundation to help the Alouettes become the first professional sports organization to be carbon-neutral. In 2014 Honorary Colonel Weightman was instrumental in rekindling the Second World War linkage between the team and the 425 Alouettes, indicated by the squadron crest prominently included on the team’s third uniform. In 2015, he launched the Alouettes Foundation with the mission of encouraging education and helping to reduce the high school drop-out rate in Quebec, as well as helping the development of amateur football in the province.
