Captain Blake McNaughton

Captain Blake McNaughton of St. Catharines, Ontario, began his path in aviation as a member of 128 Thorold Flying Dragons Air Cadet Squadron earning both his glider and pilot’s license. He joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 2002 and graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada in 2006 Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He then served at the Joint Task Force North Headquarters in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, as an operations officer before proceeding to pilot training.

In 2008, after earning his wings, Captain McNaughton took assignment as a Flying Instructor with 2 Canadian Forces Flying Training School (2 CFFTS) on the CT-156 Harvard and the CT-155 Hawk. During this time at the NATO Flight Training Center, he accumulated over 1,300 instructional hours and achieved an A2 instructor category.

Captain McNaughton joined the Snowbirds in 2015 and brings over 2,800 hours of military flying experience to the team. He flew as Snowbird 10 in the Advance and Safety Pilot position for three seasons. He currently supports the squadron through operations, standards, and flight safety.
