Major Megan Latta

Major Megan Latta, from Prince Albert, Saskatchewan joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1998 as an Aerospace Engineer under the Regular Officer Training Plan. Her initial interest in the military was peaked after seeing the Snowbirds as a child.  She attended the Royal Military College of Canada in Kingston, Ontario and graduated in 2002 with a degree in Civil Engineering.

After completing her Aerospace Engineering training in Borden, Ontario she was posted to 4 Wing Cold Lake where she gained valuable experience at 441 Tactical Fighter Squadron with the CF-188 fleet.  While posted to Cold Lake, she also served as the Maintenance Officer for Exercise Maple Flag. A posting to Borden followed to the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering as an instructor and standards officer.  In 2011, Major Latta was posted to Winnipeg and served as the CT-142 Dash 8 Aircraft Engineering Officer; worked as the Fighters and Trainers Maintenance Readiness support at 1 Canadian Air Division (1 CAD) followed by a role as the Operation Impact Desk Officer for 1 CAD Mission Support.

Major Latta was posted to 431 Air Demonstration Squadron, Canadian Forces Snowbirds in August 2017. She brings enthusiasm to the Squadron as the Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Officer.
